What is the J. F. Goodwin Scholarship Fund?
The primary purpose of the J. F. Goodwin Scholarship Fund is to annually award a scholarship, based on academic achievement, to an African-American student who graduated from either Liberty High School or Freedom High School, located in the Bethlehem Area School District. The student must have attained the highest academic average (GPA) in their graduating class and be enrolled in an institution of higher education.
The J. F. Goodwin Scholarship Fund also awards two grants annually — one to an African-American male student and one to an African-American female student. Each student must have attained an academic average (GPA) between 2.5 – 3.0. They must write an appropriate essay and be enrolled in an institution of higher education.
