81st Annual Scholarship Awards

Dear Friends,

The J. F. Goodwin Scholarship Fund is one of our nation’s oldest scholarship organizations founded in 1935 by Dr. James F. Goodwin, a Howard University graduate. This fund was organized by Dr. Goodwin to encourage young blacks to attend college.

The J. F. Goodwin Scholarship Fund Board of Directors invites you to our 81st Annual Banquet, Sunday, June 12, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at the Best Western — Lehigh Room, 300 Gateway Drive, Bethlehem, PA. Our keynote speaker is Mr. Kevin Peterman, a Liberty High School graduate, J. F. Goodwin Scholarship recipient, and Howard University graduate who is currently working toward a Masters degree at Princeton Seminary. Our 2016 theme is “The Effects of Using Social Media in Schools.”

We will present the annual J. F. Goodwin Scholarship award, two grant recipient awards, along with special recognition to Mrs. Geneva Smith Hassell and Mr. Eric Williams.

Tickets are available at $35. per person. Enclosed are two tickets for your convenience. Ads are available in our souvenir journal: $50 full page, $25 half page, and $15 one quarter page. Patron names can be listed at $1.00 per name.  Deadline for ads is May 31st and ticket deadline is June 4th.  For additional tickets contact Mrs. Tomacene Nickens, 610.865.9379 or email tomi8651@gmail.com.
